Please note: Do not pay vendor fees until positive notification of approval to attend this market as a vendor.
General Theme: The purpose of this fun, free, family-friendly community outreach event is to provide a platform to share educational information with the public about bees, the art of beekeeping, and to promote actions that support health and sustainability of pollinators in our community and environment of coastal South Carolina. In an effort to maintain the theme and primary purpose of the event, the degree by which a vendor/exhibitor’s products, mission, or services align with the theme will be a contributing factor in the application approval process. Event Date: Sunday – April 7, 2019 -- from 11am to 4pm – Rain or Shine!
Site: Cinebarre Theater parking lot at 963 Houston-Northcutt Blvd., Mount Pleasant, SC 29464 Walking distance from Patriot’s Point near the base of the Ravenel Bridge, Indoor restroom facilities, Food Trucks will be available in the event area, Walking distance to banks, grocery stores, Whole Foods Market, shopping
Check-In: All participants must sign-in upon arrival.
Setup: 8:30am on Sunday, April 7, 2019. Setup must be concluded by 10:00am.
Parking: Unless pre-approved, all exhibitor and volunteer vehicles must be removed from Cinebarre property by 10:00am. -Free parking is available behind the strip mall across the street from Cinebarre. - Spaces directly in front of Jimmy John’s restaurant are reserved for patrons. Do not park in spaces facing Jimmy John’s restaurant or near drive-thru window area. Vehicles in these spaces beyond 15 minutes may be ticketed and towed.
Exhibits: All exhibits must remain open and staffed at all times between 10:30am and 4:00pm. The display must be neat, visually inviting, and well maintained with clear, visible pricing. - Use of amplified sound is not permitted at exhibits without prior approval. - The event organizer has responsibility through oversight of CABA Board of Directors to approve or deny applications and may close a concession or vendor space not being operated in compliance with provisions of this agreement or in the best interest of the event and its patrons.
Tent location: Upon approval of your application, a designated space to accommodate your 10 x 10 ft. tent will be reserved. You must setup at the location assigned to you or as directed. - You are responsible for providing tent canopy, table(s), your chair(s) and for securing equipment, inventory, and loose objects during inclement weather. Be prepared for windy conditions and securing the tent on an asphalt surface. All items must be contained within your allocated space. Contact event organizer in advance for special arrangements.
Electricity: Requests to utilize electricity will be considered; however, access to electricity is limited and not guaranteed. Connection types and requirements for electricity or generator use must be fully specified in the application form and pre-approved. Applicants approved for electricity must provide appropriate cables in perfect working condition. -No unauthorized use of electricity or extension cords will be permitted.
Breakdown: Begins at 4:00pm and must be completed by 6:00pm unless pre-approved. Tables, chairs, or other equipment that is the property of Cinebarre must not be removed from the premises. Unclaimed items at 6:00pm on the day of the event may be discarded.
Loaned Property: Property must be clearly labelled. It is the responsibility of the property owner to confirm in advance arrangements regarding how the property will be removed from Cinebarre and returned to the owner. (The individual who delivered the item to Cinebarre may not necessarily be the same person who will assist in returning it after the event.)
Honey Sales: Members in good standing with Charleston Area Beekeepers Association (CABA) as of March 1, 2019, are invited to apply for approval to sell local honey and bee products. To participate, you are affirming you conform to all State regulations, have filed appropriate exemption form, have products legally labeled, know and trust the origin and quality of honey and products you sell, and have priced all products fairly. - Upon check-in, you must provide a legally labeled 1 lb. jar of local honey with a flip-top lid for honeytasting at the CABA hosted booth. If you offer honey-tasting, you must adhere to sanitary requirements and provide tasting-spoons with a clearly labeled container for discards. - All exhibits selling or offering honey-tasting must display “No Honey For Infants Under 1 Year” signage. Signs will be available for pick-up upon arrival at check-in.
Non-Profits: NPOs participating for educational purposes (or selling only memberships) may be eligible for fee waive or discount. Please provide comments in the application.
Registration: Submit the application form to request a space at the event. The deadline to apply is Friday, March 22, 2019.
Approval Notification and Fees: You will receive an email confirming receipt of your application. If your application is approved, the message will include a link to pay your fee online using a credit card. - If no fee is due, the message will indicate you have already met the fee requirement and will serve as your receipt. The deadline to submit payment of fees is March 31, 2019. Failure to pay by the deadline signifies that you no longer wish to participate and your application will be voided for 2019.
Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable.
